At the end of 2023, the National Museum of Taiwan History (NMTTH) launched a cooking-themed short video series on Facebook titled “Islands Cooker — Microwave Time Machine,” leading viewers to explore the rich diversity of Taiwanese culinary culture.
In 2024, NMTTH introduced the Future Formosa Culinary Lab” NFT Design Workshop, continuing to spark public curiosity. This initiative extends NMTTH’s digital innovation and speculative design efforts to promote diverse perspectives on Taiwan’s native culinary memories and enhance public thinking.
The workshop will invite creators engaged in culinary and digital interdisciplinary work, along with the public, to participate in guided sessions, imagination exercises, and dialogues to uncover and transform deeply ingrained culinary memories into multidimensional memory recipe NFTs. In addition to being archived in the National Cultural Memory Database, these multimedia NFT creations will serve as mediums for exchange and gifting during online gathering rituals, offering the public future visions of culinary culture history.
